Our horses live out in their little herds as nature intended. But biblical rain has forced us to bring them in a few times this year. This is what happened after only 36 hours in stalls. (A horse that spends 24/7 in a stall must be so frustrated & CRAZY to get out!) Our horses are all barefoot. Some have never been shod, some have made the transition after 16 years of shoeing. Skanky Mare (the best girl in the world) has stifle problems from previous bad treatment. This year she will be 20 and since removing her shoes she happily, soundly, treks out up to 60 km´s in a day with no pain in her stifle and tanking home in the same condition she left - like a filly! (over rocks, concrete, asphalt, cobbles) The Favoured Prince - quarter cracks, couldn´t keep shoes on, and his owner hadn´t been able to ride him for two years - look at him go now! He´s the prince of dressage Dark Princess - constant lameness issues, big and small. Since removing her shoes she has NEVER had an off day. She had very thin walls and pigeon toes, yet she made the transition in only 3 months to rock-crushing soundness. The UNICORN, KING OF HEARTS & LADY IN WAITING all compete in Endurance. Now if that´s not a test of barefoot ability then nothing is! YOU CAN´T JUST PULL SHOES TO ACHIEVE THIS. YOU MUST CONSULT WITH A NATURAL HOOF CARE SPECIALIST.
